FAQ

Which CBCT report should I choose: Screening or Advanced?

The Screening Report is a concise, text-only summary designed for straightforward cases or when you simply need to rule out pathology. This option is often used when an image was taken for a specific purpose, but you’d like a radiologist to review the entire scan to confirm there are no incidental findings.

The Advanced Report includes annotated images, detailed key findings, and practical clinical recommendations. Choose this option for treatment planning, complex cases, referrals, or when visuals are needed to communicate findings with colleagues or patients.

What files should I upload for radiology reading services?

CBCT in DICOM format is preferred. CBCT studies typically contain several hundred .dcm files (extension for DICOM) files and must be zipped before upload. Please ensure the images are NOT anonymized before saving.

For panoramic image interpretation, upload the .dcm file (preferred, as it allows the radiologist to adjust and analyze the image) or a JPG/PNG that includes the patient’s name and date of image acquisition.

If you experience any issues, please contact us.

Can you provide a second opinion on a study that already has a report?

Yes. Upload the DICOM and attach the prior report. We’ll independently review the study and address your specific questions in our interpretation.

How and why to ZIP a DICOM folder?

CBCT scans consist of hundreds of DICOM slice files. Zipping the folder helps prevent upload errors and speeds up uploading and sharing.

To ZIP the folder:

  • Right-click the patient’s DICOM folder
  • Select “Send to” → “Compressed (zipped) folder”
  • A .zip file will be created in the same location

Can I talk to a radiologist if I have a question?

Yes. Established clients have direct access to the radiologist through the portal or by phone.
