Exporting DICOM files (.dcm) from Planmeca
Overview of steps

Create a Desktop folder
Name it with the patient’s full name.

Open the CBCT scan in Romexis
Top menu → Output → Export Volume.

Set export format
Select Set of Single Frame DICOM Files.

Adjust export settings
Resolution: Original · Overlay: None · Export to: Folder · Do NOT include viewer.

Choose export folder
Click “…”, select the patient folder on Desktop → OK.

Verify files
Confirm the folder contains many .dcm files (usually hundreds).

ZIP the folder (do not skip)
Right-click the folder → Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder.

Upload the ZIP
Upload the zipped folder to the IDR portal request form.

Create your portal account and upload your CBCT scan to start an interpretation request. You’ll receive email updates when your case is received and accepted.
